The Phoenix of Phillips is a literary magazine written by and for the people of the Phillips neighborhood in south Minneapolis. It has a circulation of 8,000 in the neighborhood and greater Minneapolis.
The Phoenix is now accepting submissions of poems, essays and short short stories from children, youth and adult writers, professional or amateur. We have published work by authors as young as seven and in their eighties. Many of the people had their first publication in The Phoenix.
The only restriction is that we generally publish only writers who live, work or have significant other presence in the Phillips community. The editorial group includes both youth and adults, published and new writers.
The theme for issue #4 is “Healing”. Healing defined broadly: healing of the body, the soul, the mind, the earth. Submissions should be e-mailed to:
firstname.lastname@example.org, or mailed to: 2742 15th Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55407. Deadline is September 15, 2017.
